Livis Safety Barrier History

In the past, without trackside protection all platform installation and maintenance works carried out were limited to the very brief windows of opportunity afforded by engineering hours or relied on track possessions.
Such methods of working prove to be exceptionally costly and time consuming adding millions of pounds to transport budgets and often caused extended disruption for customers.
Since 1996 Livis has gained knowledge and expertise working in these specialist environments which has inspired them to design and deliver a fully approved, lightweight modular safety barrier system.
This system can be assembled over the full length of a platform in less than two hours and allows workers unparalleled access and increased productive working time whilst trains are able to pass through the station.
A recent project utilising the LSBS proved a resounding success allowing total replacement of an old-style platform concourse with a brand new tiled finish over a single uninterrupted weekend operation. 55 engineering shifts were saved and many weeks of passenger disruption.
The client estimated that potential savings on the scheme were around 40% without counting other hidden benefits such as:- Improved quality of finishes, reduction in nonproductive time, reduced risk of temporary works finishes and no additional anchorage repairs required.
As with all transport/infrastructure projects public perception is very important. A regular passenger would have witnessed the transformation of the platform over the weekend.
Commissioning the LSBS for your project is a simple generic process which allows you to plan platform closures quickly and with ease. To understand the possibilities that this product could have on your business please contact:
