Billericay Platform Refurbishment
Billericay Station is an Abellio greater Anglia station located in North Essex which serves the main lines between Liverpool street station to Southend- on- sea. Billericay station opened to passengers on 1 January 1889 and the last improvement works were completed in 2012.
Livis were appointed as principle contractor to refurbish the platforms 1 and 2 at the station. The works consists of platform coper replacement, repairs to the platform riser wall, new linear drainage, installation of stick on tactiles, new soakaway for drainage on both platforms and resurfacing the majority of the both platforms and adjusting the falls in the block paving to ensure compliancy. These works were carried out on 5 number 52 hour possessions. We have additionally constructed a retaining wall.
A Polybridge was used utilised during the possessions to enable the transportation of plant, materials and tarmac in wheelbarrows from our storage area in the car park adjacent to platform 2 over to platform 1.
We installed 850m² of tarmac and 250 lineal meters of drainage during the day and night time planned works. Collaborating with another specialist contractor providing services was essential to ensure the project proceeded safely and efficiently and to programme.
