Five years ago Thames Gateway (Kent) Chamber of Commerce along with the University of Kent took a long hard look at the massive regeneration planned for North Kent and the many thriving businesses in the area and decided that they deserved some recognition. This took the form of the Dartford Business Awards.
Applications for the awards are invited from the local business community. The entries are presented to a panel of three judges, a banker, accountant and lawyer who sift through each one until they come down to the final 12. The judges then spend two days visiting each company then whittle those down to a Dartford, a Gravesham and an overall winner. Special merit awards are also recognised by the judges for exceptional applications such as for new businesses, or best entrepreneur. At this years finals Livis Ltd were delighted to be awarded first place. The prize for winning this prestigious award was £2000 which Livis Ltd then donated to the Charity of the Event, The EllenorLions Hospices. Linda Trew, Manager at EllenorLions Hospices, said “We are extremely grateful for Livis’ support, especially during what we know is a very difficult time for businesses, so many thanks from us.” For more information on Ellenor Lions Hospices web site www.ellenorfoundation.org |
